It took me a long time before I was willing to come and try Dickey's. While I was not brought to my knees with love for this BBQ joint, I was definitely not upset that I ended up here. I decided to go with the 2 meat plate with the pulled pork and the chopped beef brisket. Along with the plates you get to choose 2 sides. There are so many yummy sides to choose from I had a hard time deciding which to go with, in the end I got the Baked Potato Casserole and the Fried Okra. Both meats came out heaping, hot, and juicy. The Baked Potato Casserole came out with my meats and was great the potatoes and add-ins the perfect texture and the cheese on top hot and gooey. The Fried Okra came out a few minutes later since they were frying it up fresh. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside and delicious on the inside. Dickey's is set up as a order at the counter and get your food when you pay establishment. In addition to what you get at the counter when you pay, there is also I BBQ sauce bar where you can go and pick just the right sauce for your meats. On this counter there is also a giant vat of big as my hand pickles, which were crunchy and delicious!!! And to top off the whole experience they have an soft serve ice cream machine you can help yourself to for cones of goodness.

Everyone needs a little barbecue in their life. With football season upon us, you might need a little more. Stop by Dickey's to get a quick fix that is a step above. I've reviewed barbecue in here before (Pat's here and Firehouse here), but Dickey's takes restaurant served barbecue to a new high, and I'll tell you why. 1. Great meat. It's true. With an eye on my health, I've been moderating how much meat I eat recently. One bite, though, and I was about ready to order an extra serving. Served on a toasted bun and tender and moist, it was delicious. 2. Sides. I'm not usually that jazzed by baked beans or the other sides that most barbecue restaurants serve up almost obligatorily. They taste like an after thought, maybe even something out of a can. Not so at Dickey's. My bowl of baked beans was fresh and yummy, and my bowl was empty when we left. 3. Service and Soft Serve. Where other local barbecues felt like amateur operations, Dickey's staff were pleasant, fast, and delightful, reflecting a professional level of training. And, to boot, they had free soft serve ice cream to top off the meal. How do you beat that? Where others are shooting from the hip, Dickey's takes barbecue to the next level. Check it out soon, and order some barbcue for your next football tail-gate party. They cater, too, so if you're looking for BBQ for your party, be sure to call up the South Jordan location (where we ate).

Had the rib plate and sauage. Order takeout. Portion is good, taste is good.

I was pretty darned impressed with this place. It has the ambiance of a fast food restaurant, but has the taste and quality of a sit down and stay awhile. I was really impressed with the quality of the meat, the taste of the meat and the barbecue. There isn't too many places to go here in Utah for okra, but I was really impressed with the quality of their okra too. I definitely plan on going back as often as I can for this place!

Had the chopped beef brisket. It was delicious. The rolls are good although the sides are nothing special.

The meat is good, and the sides are even better. Get the onion tanglers and the loaded baked potato. Free pickles and ice cream! Good stuff.

stay away if you are vegetarian. no healthy greens . the only thing a vegetarian can eat here are maybe the fries, but that is greesy and unhealthy. if you like Fast foods and red meats then here you go.

My BBQ was very good, however I ordered the big BBQ sandwich which is supposed to come with pickles and onions and it came with neither. That was very disappointing, also the staff needs to be a little more assertive and customer friendly, but there were no problems. I give it a 3 only because I'm really disappointed my sandwich wasn't done correctly and it was a to-go order so now it can't be fixed.

Employees indifferent. Sauce bar filthy and sticky, no utensils except spoons for the ice cream. Are the sauces supposed to be cold? Mac and cheese was flavorless, pecan pie not worth it either. At least I had a really good coupon... No reason to stay away, but nothing makes me want to return.

I ordered ribs and I got jerky, it was tough and dry. I think it is more that this location is not very busy so the ribs sit and dry out than that Dickies is bad, I have had good ribs at other locations but don't plan to ever visit this location again since they are willing to serve dried out ribs in stead of discarding them when they dry out. I got them to go or I would have returned them. I predict that this location will close soon, you can't serve dried out ribs and expect people to return.

The food isn't fantastic but decent, and it seems the price has increased from what was already pretty high. I'm fairly certain the portions of meat have also decreased as well.

I'd never tried Dickey's before today. A coupon brought me in for the first time, and I'm glad it did! We were greeted by 2 friendly workers almost immediately. We told them we had never been in so they took the time to explain how the plates work and offer up suggestions. We got 2 one-meat plates which come with a roll and 2 sides. Everything was pretty average except the pulled pork which was the best I've ever had and the fried onion tangles which were absolutely amazing! I would come back every day just for those 2 items! This is not a very busy location so it's a good place to come and have a conversation.

Well after last night's faux Mexican I needed something better. Dickey's is in the same lot as the last place so I gave it a try. Kinda slow service. I had called in a to go order but they don't actually box it up until you get there (which is nice, since my food was still hot back at the hotel, but that means you have wait in line with everyone else). I got the 2 meat combo with ribs (2) and pulled pork (way too much), with coleslaw and onion tanglers. The meat was fair - decent mild smoke flavor but kinda dry. I didn't know about the sauce station another reviewer mentioned or if it even had to go cups. Definitely would have been better with some sauce. The onion tanglers were good (basically mini onion rings chopped up). The roll was OK but again a bit dry (I don't usually butter my bread but some honey butter would have made this much better). The coleslaw, however, was great. Nice and crispy with a little vinegar kick. Nice interior with music NOT blaring and friendly service. I'd go back, but be sure to get some sauce for the meat. Edit 12/16/13: Back in town to finish the job from last time. Decided to give Dickey's another shot. Got the ribs with potato casserole and onion tanglers, plus a sample of all 3 sauces. Still can't go more than 3 stars. Ribs were boring, didn't really like any of the sauces, and the potato casserole was just OK. For me this is the McDonald's of BBQ.

It wasn't disgusting but I wouldn't waste my money coming here again. I felt like the sides were something you'd get at a school cafeteria. The pulled pork and brisket were pretty good but they weren't Texas size portions. The ribs had no meat on them. The bbq sauce was meh. The 2 sauces I tried tasted the exact same. For the price I paid I expect better. In utah the only place for bbq for me is Pats.
